ഇനിയും ഇതു വേണോ?
ദേശീയ ആഘോഷങ്ങള് ഓരോ വര്ഷവും കലണ്ടറില് ഇടം പിടിക്കുമ്പോലെ ബന്ദുകളും ഹര്ത്താലുകളും സ്ഥലം പിടിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് പ്രവര്ത്തി ദിവസംങളായി വിരലില് എണ്ണാവുന്ന കോളുംങള് മാത്രമെ കാണാന് കഴിയുകയുള്ളൂ. തൊട്ടതിനും പിടിച്ചതിനും ഒക്കെ ജന ജീവിതം സ്തംഭിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ നിയമ ലംഘന പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തില് രാഷ്ട്രീയമോ സാമൂഹികമോ ആയ എല്ലാ വിഭാഗം ആളുകളും ഭാഗഭാക്കുകള് ആണ്.. ഈ വ്യ്ക്രുതത്തില് ഏര്പ്പെടുന്നവര് ഉള്പ്പെടെ ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് മുഴുവനും ദ്രോഹം ആയി തീരുന്ന ഈ ദുഷ് കൃത്യം അവസാനിപ്പ്ക്കെണ്ടാതാണ് എന്ന കാര്യത്തില് എതിര് അഭിപ്രായം ഉണ്ടാവാന് സാധ്യത ഇല്ല.ബന്ദുകളും ഹര്ത്താലുകളും എത്ര പേരുടെ ജീവന് അപഹരിച്ചു എന്ന കാര്യം നാം ഓര്ക്കണം.രോഗികള്ക്ക് ഭക്ഷണം കിട്ടാതെ അഥവാ അടിയന്തിര ചികിത്സ കിട്ടാതെ പ്രയാസപ്പെടുകയും മരണം പോലും സംഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത എത്രയെത്ര സംഭവംകള്ക്ക് നാം സാക്ഷികള് അല്ല? വൈദേശിക ആധിപത്യം അവസാനിച്ചത് ഈ കൂട്ടര് അറിഞ്തില്ലെന്നാണോ നാം കരുതേണ്ടത്? തദ്ദേശീയര് ഭരിക്കുന്ന നാട്ടില് വിദേശികളോട് എന്ന പോലെ സമരാഭാസം കളിലും കടും ദ്രോഹം കളിലും ഏര്പ്പെടുന്നത് എന്തുമാത്രം ക്രൂരതയാണ്? ഹൈ കോടതിയുടെ നിര്ദേശങ്ങള് പോലും അവഗണിച്ച് ആഭാസന്മാര് കാട്ടി ക്കൂട്ടുന്ന ഈ പെക്കൂതള്ക്ക് കാരണക്കാരായവരെ നിയമത്തിനു മുന്പില് കൊണ്ടു വരേണ്ട ബാധ്യത എല്ലാ പൌര മാര്ക്കും ഉണ്ട്.രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിന് അതീതം ആയിമനുഷ്യ സ്നേഹത്തില് വിശ്വാസമുള്ള എല്ലാവരും ഇതിനായി സംഘടിക്കേണ്ടത് കാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ അടിയന്തിര ആവശ്യം ആണ്.

Whither we are drifting?
Keralites are under the notion that they are far superior to others living outside Kerala.No special skill is necessary to judge that it is false.True that we use comparatively more water for personal hygiene.The reason: abundance of water!What about other things?
Pretensions will lead us to nowhere! Now we are lagging behind of others in all fields. Others are fast in achieving progress in every field. Once we were ranked the topmost in literacy and education.The situation, now, is on the reverse.We have to cross the western ghat ranges for comparatively better and qualitative education. We have a number of universities. Mismanagement and lack of farsightedness have made our institutions infamous. Coimbatore an important city in neighbouring Tamilnadu has amazingly more and innumerable institutions than those in our two or three southern districts combined. Majority of the students having education in those institutions are from Kerala. Lacking institutions which offer diverse courses in Kerala our children are compelled to seek education of their choice elsewhere.
Bundhs and hartals have roots in our blood.Unless we have such rituals to enjoy thrice or more times a week our minds will hesitate to go to sleep.In short we can not rest satisfied without observing bundhs and hartals many times a week in our state to which these are only luxuries.
'Queue' is alien to Keralites and it being an anathema as far as we are concerned, we avoid standing in and make it break sooner.Everybody wants to be the first though he or she is a late comer. Nowhere else in the whole world one would witness guys who use tyres of the bus as rungs of ladder to get into it for winning seats overlooking the queue. There is another group of people who put kerchiefs on the seats from sides of the buses, again, to ensure seats while others struggle near the door to get into it.
In olden times outlaws concentrated in Chambal forests and mountains. Regrettably, now they are everywhere in Kerala. Accidents are accidents. No sane man will drive recklessly to kill passers by. When an accident occures people will appear the site from nowhere and start setting the vehicle on fire and even burn nearby shops too, apparently taking the law into their hands.Most of the people forget that they are citizens like others and therefore they have to restrain from doing certain things which are under the jurisdiction of Police or other govt. agencies. Instead of informing the police of the mishappenings the crowd would express their anger by destroying or burning the buses which are unlawful and criminal acts. Here who is the culprit, the unfortunate driver or the crowd engaged in rabid vandalism? Not all. Certain incidentswhich were peculiar to the north have shown their ugly face in Kerala too.Culprits arrested by the Police are forcibly freed by crowds as often occures in north India.
